wren atelier (wa) is a full service architecture and design studio based in historic Southtown, San Antonio. Founded by jennifer young in 2021 following an epic, soul searching, airstream journey with her family during the covid pandemic, wren atelier and sister shop, wren tienda, were born of the dream to provide a multifaceted business that celebrates craft.

Architecture

Following a Master’s in Architecture from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, jennifer spent the first 14 years of her career as an architect with the internationally recognized firm Lake|Flato Architects. Her designs, indelibly informed by this mentorship and a life of travel and respect for the environment, respond intimately to each site and its occupant’s program. Her passion is in creating spaces that celebrate both gathering and contemplation, where art and light become one, and where materials celebrate their connection to craft.

Craft

wren tienda, a small, curated space selling handcrafted items from around the world. Pottery, textiles, jewelry, and clothing carefully chosen and represented. Living in Japan for 4 years forever changed the way jennifer appreciates craft + ritual as she seeks objects crafted with integrity, simplicity, and age-old techniques. jennifer holds a BA in jewelry and photography from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (formerly NSCAD) and contributes to her tienda in several mediums.

Gather

Workshops and gatherings, where people come together to learn, share, make new connections, and even possibly, forge new directions in their lives.
